Hey ROCKERS & ROCKETTES - DISTANT WARNING was recently asked to open up for POWER TRIBE at JR's. Of course, we said 'Hell yes'! It's always an honor to get to spend the night with you all...er..did that sound right? Anyway, on Nov. 1, 2003, DISTANT WARNING and POWER TRIBE request your presence at JR's for a night of drinking and partying with the bands. We hope to see you there. On a somewhat related note, DISTANT WARNING is once again getting ready to record another disc. The plan this time is to re-record tracks off of our previous effort with a full band and update the sound a bit. There is however a snag...we have too many damn songs to choose from! We are asking for your (the Faithful') opinion. Please give us some idea of which song to re-record. There are several CDs worth of material to choose from. We are looking for 10 or 12 of your picks. Who knows, maybe there will even be a new cut or two added. You never know! We are also in the process of shopping for a manager and/or booking agent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy Helloween! Peace and Rock - Distant Warning

Once again the time for an update is upon us. How are you all doing? We wanted to thanks everyone that has come out to support us..."Thanks"! It's so very cool to be in the Battle of the Bands and the Best of the Bands competitions and to see all of our loyal followers out there raising hell. You ROCK! As you may have heard, we are in the finals for both. Part of the credit goes out to all of you. The Motherpalooza Battle of the bands final at Murray Street Darts takes place on the 26th of July. The Best of the Bands finals is at Rumbay on the 30th. Unfortunately we do not have our time slots yet and won't have them until the day of the event. Can't wait to see you all there! Another opportunity to play just came up and I'm sure that it will make some of you very, very happy. We have been invited to play at Acacia Park on the 27th of July. Yes, finally an outdoor, ALL-AGES show! We said it would happen, but we weren't sure where or when. Our time slot is from 3-4 in the afternoon. Come on out and have some fun with us and work on that tan. There's been alot of folks wondering if Mike is available for...drum lessons. And the answer is yes. Mike has been an instructor for several (4) years. The good news is that he'll do damn near anything for a buck, but prefers drumming, and teaching up and cuming drummers. So if you are interested, give him a call and he'll be glad to set up some time for you. If you have the time and get a chance, please check out the new video clips that we have posted. A big thanks to Paul Sninchak for hooking us up. Peace and Rock - Ron and Distant Warning

Hey everyone - you know who you are - LOL. Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th. The band took a much needed and well deserved break. We are well prepared for the Battle of the Bands (aka Motherpalooza) at Murray Street Darts, begining this Friday at 8 PM. Yes, yours truly will be there and we hope that you will be there as well. It should be an interesting event. We are the first band up. It starts at 8:00 and we play until 8:45. We do want to thank all of you for your support and dedication. We also want to wish some friends of ours ( Kyle, Joyce, Bob and Sharon ) good luck in their new endeavor in Washington. Kyle, thanks so much for the DW light, it rocks! A note to all you musicians and other local and Denver bands - drop us a line if you are interested in playing a show together sometime. We had a blast with Cevrance - all the way from Denver - they rocked...thanks Wayne. As always, thanks again everone for making it all happen and we hope to see you this Friday. Make some noise - Peace, Ron

Hey everyone, it's Ron again. As you know this is generally where we try to keep you informed on what's up with Distant Warning. We get to plug upcoming shows by letting you know where and when the party is. I'm sad to say that this update is going to be a bit different. Don't get me wrong, we are gonna be pretty busy and we really want you there, but this bit of news is more important. We are sure that you'll understand why.It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we report that someone close to us has passed away. On June 8, around 12:30 in the morning, David Mullins passed away. He was a friend, a fan, and a supporter of the band for a long time. He was someone that I had the pleasure of getting to know very well. That's what happens when someone marries one of your best friends. That friend would be Candice, his wife and long-time companion.
Many of you may not have known him personally, but I'm sure that you saw him and will remember him. Tall, deep voice, a very infectious laugh and always willing to help, if he could. He was a man who managed to leave an impression on everyone that ever met him. I will always remember him for that. He will be missed by all of us, my children and family and by everyone who ever had the privilege to meet him.
Our hearts, minds and prayers go out to Candice and to the remaining family and friends. Know that when we play he will forever be in our thoughts. Some of us are truly better people for having known David. We ask that the next time you come out to see us, raise a glass and toast the man, the friend that he was. There is no doubt in my mind that he would smile knowing that we were raising a drink in his honor.
Peace and Love
Ron and Distant Warning

Hello boys and girls, it's Ron again doing my best to keep you informed on what's happening in the wonderful world of Distant Warning. Well, we have had some awesome shows recently and we want to thank all of you that attended...Thanks! We really had a blast. We want to send a special shout out to several people, Joe at Paradise City, Bodragaz (great band out of Denver), Heather at Murray Street Darts, Near Death Xperience (awesome newcomers to the scene - check them out) Cecil and T for the hospitality - dinner, beer, and breakfast, Todd and Babette from FUKT-SHIRTS.com (they are so cool) buy their shirts...they rock. There are so many people to thank, but this list could go on and on. Rest assured that we know who you are and we thank you. Also, some of you may have heard the news, we have purchased the licensing for Mr. Crowley and C'mon and Love Me. What this means for you is that these songs are now available on the Desiree disc. Just think of them as bonus tracks that we actually had to pay for - LOL. Til' next time...Peace and Rock - Ron. Support our troops - We Do!

Hello rockers of all ages, boys and girls...we are back, with a vengeance. We have one live show under our belts with the current line-up and it was sweet. Our apologies to those of you who missed it. On the upside, we are in Denver at the Illif on the 16th and at our own Paradise City on the 21st. We want to let you know that we are steadily rehearsing and in the process of writing new material. Let's be honest, we are always writing. Mike has really influenced our writing. He's given the new and even the old stuff a bit of an edge, just to keep it fresh. A lot of you have been asking about T-shirts and other merchandise. Let me assure you that we hear you. We are currently working on a few different versions of T-shirts. Once we have narrowed the field a bit, we will post them on the site for you to see. That way you, the fans - the people that we count on, can decide which one we should go with. It's always good to get feedback from our fans. You know that we listen to you. As you can tell, Duane has been working on improving the site and doing a great job. New buttons, links cleaned up, my bio-page update, and Pay Pal. Again, we would appreciate any input from you, the fan. All you haters can just sick my duck. Big thanks and much love to those of you that have stuck by us and supported us. A shout out to Sonny and Shannon for the constant support. Also, a shout out to Joe C. Wails out of Denver. We had the opportunity to play with these guys and they kicked. They are worth a trip to Denver. Well, that's it for now. Keep emailing us and signing the guest book. We love hearing from you all. Hope you get a chance to check out the new disc 'Desiree'. Get yours today or at one of our upcoming shows. Peace and Rock! - Ron

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season. It is with great pleasure and fanfare that I announce the following news! The long awaited DISTANT WARNING album "Desiree" is finally finished! It was released to the masses on January 1st. I'm very happy with the way the writing and performances came out on this disc. I want to thank Jeff for helping us write some of the songs. I also want to thank a good friend of mine, DONNA GINES for providing the lyrics to ELIZABETH ANN. Those of you who own our previous demos can definitely hear how the material has evolved over the years when you listen to this one. I think these are the best songs we've written so far. I really hope you enjoy them as well as we do. Here's some production notes that I was unable to fit on the CD cover. The songs were written from 97' to 02'. This was the first time I ever recorded on a computer. I acquired a copy of Calkwalk ProAudio 9 and a LiveDrive soundcard. My 900Mhz PC had no problem mixing the average 20 tracks on each song. The cover artwork was done using a 3D rendering program called BRYCE 4. I just dropped in a sky, some water, a few trees, rocks, and voila! That's all there was to it. Mostly, I want to thank you guys for your patience on this CD. I had been talking about this album for years. I didn't want to release it until we had enough material for a full album. Hopefully, the next one won't take nearly as long. Mike is doing great as our new drummer! He has a few more songs to learn, then we should be good to go. We all want to get back out there and play for you ASAP! Please visit the Soundbites page to hear some clips off of "Desiree". I you want to order it, you can do that on our new Merchandise page, or bug one of us for a copy. We're selling them for $12 US just like the other CDs. The money helps us buy ink, paper, and the other materials needed to manufacture these demos. Also check out the new band photos to see how goofy we look these days! Remember, without you there would be no us! So enjoy the new album and we'll see you real soon! - Duane
